Secret Garden Flat Vase
Adam Aaronson’s “Secret Garden” abstract expressionist vessels are painterly and colourful.
A secret garden, where the owners have installed some of his flames and pods, inspired Adam to create this series of unique vessels.
Adam developed some advanced hot glass colour techniques to build up the colour tones in this series of work. “I didn’t invent these methods. Many other artists use the same sort of technique, but we all have our own thumbprints” says Adam. The process is similar to working with a palette knife in painting. He builds the colour structure up in layers to achieve these glorious effects. This enables him to create rich deep tones with subtle contrasts.
Adam commented: “Every artist has work that they are particularly fond of. So we can’t keep all our favourite pieces. However, there is something about this piece that makes it one of my all-time favourite works, so I hope it will go to a home where the purchaser loves it as much as I do!”
